King Makers: These episodes focus on the breeders behind the kings of horses we see out competing today.

In this King Makers episode we talk to Pennie Wallace about the decisions, circumstances, work, and insight that went into the breeding that resulted in Lordships Graffalo

Lordships Graffalo ("Walter"), is a Grade 1 rated, top-ranked British eventing horse ridden by Ros Canter. As of the time of recording, he is considered one of the highest-rated eventers in history, becoming the first horse to win both the Burghley and Badminton CCI5* titles twice, achieving numerous double-clear rounds, and an Olympic Team Gold.

Pennie tells us what it feels like to have bred an Olympic level event horse, and about the pairing of German Trakehner bloodlines through his sire, Grafenstolz, with a strong British eventing dam line of Cornish Queen.

You can check out Pennie's upcoming eventing stallion Pencos Arctic King (same dam as Lordships Graffalo, by Chilli Morning) here: https://www.brackenspastud.co.uk/pencosarcticking
